ERA's prehistoric idols on display at the National Museum of Archaeology

26/02/2021 - ERA's prehistoric idols on display at the National Museum of Archaeology

The National Archaeological Museum (MNA) is preparing the exhibition 'Ídolos - Olhares Milenares' ('Idols - Millennial Looks'), about the human representations created 5,000 years ago by communities that inhabited the south of the Iberian Peninsula. This is a collaboration with the Archaeological Museum of Alicante and the University of Alcalá de Henares.

The same exhibition was on show until January 2021 at the National Archaeological Museum in Madrid, displaying Iberian pieces from that period. Of these, around 50 are Portuguese, 37 are from the MNA's collection and the rest are under the responsibility of ERA Arqueologia.

This extraordinary collection of ours was gathered during the archaeological excavations we've been carrying out since 1997 at the Perdigões Archaeological Complex, in collaboration with Esporão, SA.
