08/10/2025 - Microcredential in Geospatial Technologies in Archaeology

In an increasingly digital world, archaeology is also reinventing itself with the support of new technologies. To this end, in a partnership between the University of Aveiro and ERA Arqueologia, which combines scientific excellence and professional experience in the field, the course titled "Microcredential in Geospatial Technologies in Archaeology" was developed.

Aimed at students and cultural heritage professionals who wish to learn more about the use of digital tools applied to archaeology, the course covers:

- Geographical Information Systems (GIS) for organising and analysing spatial data;
- Remote sensing with aerial images and LiDAR technology;
- Geophysical prospecting (magnetometry and georadar) for non-invasive analysis of archaeological sites;
- Introduction to Artificial Intelligence applied to the analysis of archaeological data.
